One of the most popular pizza's in Italy is the Margherita pizza which was created by the now famous pizza maker Raffaele Esposito when he was asked to make a pizza for the then King and Queen of Italy. This pizza is very simple containing only a tomato sauce, mozzarella and basil. The reason why he used these three ingredients was that they were the three colors of the Italian flag and in its simplest form represented true Italy. Drape your tables with authentic pizzeria red-checkered tablecloths. Set out breadsticks, antipasto platter and a galvanized tub full of ice and drinks on one table. On the serving table set out fresh vegetables (tomato, onions and assorted peppers) and fresh herbs along with the assortment of authentic italian pizza's.
Scatter tealight candles and fresh cut flowers around the dining table. You will need three tables. One for the Aperitivo and Antipasto course, one to serve the Secondo course and one for the dining table.
